Karolyn earned her Ph.D. in English and had been a professor of medieval studies, a faculty developer, an administrator, a project and program manager, and a thought-leader of contemplation in higher ed for nearly twenty years. These days, most comfortable behind the scenes, she serves her communities in a variety of supporting roles. She enjoys reading, dancing, journaling, communing in & with nature, and strolling the woods with her two mutts, Acorn and Buddy. She lives in Charlottesville with them and her husband Peter, a former sailor, woodworker, and permaculture farmer who currently serves as machinist for the Astronomy Department at UVA.Please stop by the office and say hello to Karolyn!
