The CommUnity Outreach Team strives to make a difference within our congregation and in our larger Charlottesville - Albemarle community. All are welcome to join. For more information about meeting times or to suggest a community project, please contact the Unity Office. Check out some of our recent projects below!
Unity of Charlottesville and the Bahá'ís of Charlottesville co-sponsored this event to bring various faith communities together in fellowship. We enjoyed music from UOC's own Blair Jones and Rhonda Cooley as well as Davina Jackson and the Southern Albemarle Community Choir.
Unity of Charlottesville members ate in fellowship with the Jefferson Tibetan Society, a group that has met at Unity's campus for years. The society's president presented a gift to Unity's board president, Toni Bouchard, and young members of the society read essays of gratitude for the ability to connect with their Tibetan heritage and language.
Unity of Charlottesville co-hosted a BIG yard sale with the Community Homeschool Enrichment Center (CHEC), a local homeschool cooperative that uses UOC's campus.
Each February volunteers from Unity of Charlottesville and other local churches came together to help Charlottesville's chapter of Habitat for Humanity build homes in the Southwood neighborhood.
This holiday season we collected toys for Charlottesville's annual Toy Lift. Members of the congregation are also volunteering to help distribute toys to various local schools.
Members of Unity hosted a booth at C-Ville Pride to offer support and love to the LGBTQ+ community. We handed out stickers and fidgets and gave bubble blessings!
