The Songmaker Series, FocusMusic, & Unity of Charlottesville are very happy to welcome Anne Hills back to town. . Mary Gordon Hall & The LaDaDas (Betty Jo Taylor & Blair Jones) will be opening the show.

A stunning soprano tone has made Anne one of contemporary folk music's premier vocalists. But her affinity for choosing unforgettable material, and her knack for writing heartfelt original songs, have brought her to the upper echelons of her craft. Anne moved to Chicago’s fertile folk scene in 1976, and became known for her associations with the likes of Tom Paxton, Michael Smith, Steve Gillette, and Cindy Mangsen.

She has also performed & recorded with Livingston Taylor, Priscilla Herdman, & David Roth, among others. Anne has won many awards & honors. Of note, she received WFMA’s 2002 Kate Wolf Memorial Award, and The Kerrville Music Foundation’s 1997 Outstanding Female Vocalist of the Year. Please join us for this special evening with one of our favorite musicians!

“For me, Anne’s writing is as direct, melodic and deep as any work being done today. She is quite simply one of my absolute favorite songwriters.”-Tom Paxton
