The Unity 2025 Board of Trustees warmly shares the following updates on our community's transition following the announcement of Rev. Don Lansky's retirement at the end of March. 

  1. Save the Date – March 23 after the Sunday Service for the Celebration of Rev. Don’s Service to Unity of Charlottesville. 
  2. Maria Stein is leading the Celebration planning. Please see Maria if you would like to help with the Celebration.
  3. All are welcome to join Don and Patricia for a small group gathering of conversation and connection. More details and registration here. 
  4. Peggy Rooth has stepped forward to lead Spiritual Programming after Don’s departure and before a Transitional Specialist is hired. Peggy and Don are arranging for Guest Speakers and Peggy will be coordinating with them for Sunday Services in the future. 
  5. United Worldwide Ministries (UWM) has numerous resources for Unity of Charlottesville as we move through this transition. The Board met with the Lead person on the UWM Transition Team and already have received so much valuable guidance about the Transition Process. Some of the key services they offer: 
    1. Coaching, guiding and supporting the Board, staff and ministry.
    2. Help us as a congregation use this time of transition for spiritual growth.
    3. Provide us with a Transition Roadmap to prepare for this journey.
    4. Completion of a Vacancy Packet to attract a Transition Specialist to Unity of Charlottesville.
    5. Assistance in vetting any interested Transitional Specialists.
    6. Providing congregational workshops on the various aspects of the transition process.
