Meet Marc Boston, the Director of Youth and Family Ministry at Unity of Charlottesville.

Marc was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He moved to Charlottesville almost 10 years ago with his wife and three young daughters. Marc is a children’s book author and Interfaith minister. In his work as an author, Marc creates stories that emphasize the importance of diversity, inclusion, and representation, and reflect on topics surrounding definitions of family values and self-empowerment.

Marc will become an Ordained Interfaith Minister in June 2022. He is studying at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in New York City.

In addition to running the Unity of Charlottesville Youth and Families Ministry, Marc is an active and engaged dad, husband, and he is also active in the local community, all while continuing to write children's books and engaging with audiences via author talks.

Marc gives back to the local community by serving on boards and volunteering with organizations.  Mark serves on the Board of Trustees at Tandem Friends school, where he sits on the Diversity & Equity committee as well as the Spiritual Life committee. Marc also sits on the Friends of JMRL (Jefferson Madison Regional Library, our greater Charlottesville area public library system) Board.  Marc volunteers with Cultivate Charlottesville’s 'City Schoolyard Garden' program and in his spare time Marc enjoys reading, music, and spending time in nature.
