Sunday Celebration Services [LIVE AND IN PERSON] 10:20 a.m.
October 4 @ 10:20 am - 11:45 am
Join us for Unity of Charlottesville’s First In-Person Live Outdoor Sunday Service
Sunday, October 4th 10:20 a.m.
In Front of the Unity Entrance (Bring Lawn Chairs and/or Blankets)
This service will also be broadcast on Zoom, Facebook, and Unitycharlottesville.org
Why October 4th?
Many people have expressed an interest in worshipping together in person. This date is auspicious because it is the 19th Anniversary of Revs. Patricia and Don at Unity of Charlottesville, and the 14th Anniversary of moving into our own church home.
What Protections are in Place?
Everyone’s health and safety is foremost in our awareness for this outdoor Sunday service. Masks and social distancing are required. We will have greeters and ushers to assist us. It goes without saying that if you are experiencing any Covid symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with symptoms, that you please stay home. The main building will be closed but the Fillmore House restrooms will be available. Although Blair and our musicians will be singing, we ask that participants refrain from singing and just enjoy the music. We will also have hand sanitizer available.
What Do I Do When I Enter the Unity Parking Lot?
The traffic circle will be closed so please use the parking lots to the left or right as you drive onto the Unity campus. Please put your mask on and meet the greeters and ushers who will assist you in finding a socially distant spot to place your lawn chair or blanket. Please plan on arriving no later than 10:15 a.m. so you can find a place to sit. At 10:20 a.m. Blair and the Praise Singers will begin with prelude music and the service will officially begin at 10:30 a.m. It may be a little chilly, so bundle up.
If I Choose Not to Attend in Person, What is the Best Way to Watch the Sunday Service
We encourage you to use the Zoom link that we send to you our weekly email, our weekly video email, and every Sunday morning. Then you can just remain on Zoom after the service for virtual fellowship. You can also watch the service on our website, www.unitycharlottesville.org or on Facebook, www.facebook.com/unitycharlottesville.
If I Attend in Person, Will There Still Be Virtual Fellowship After the Service?
Our plan is to have virtual fellowship on Zoom immediately after the Sunday service. Before you come to Unity, please download the Zoom App from the IPhone App Store or, if you have an Android phone, from Google Play. After the service, we’ll ask you to turn your mobile phone on and search your email for the Zoom link. Click on the Zoom link and you’ll be in our virtual fellowship.
For those who attend in person and choose to not to participate in the Zoom virtual fellowship, please feel free to enjoy some socially distanced fellowship away from the front entrance of Unity. We ask that you do not bring food or drink.
What if it Rains?
If it rains, this outdoor in-person service will be canceled and we will broadcast virtually on Zoom, Facebook and the Unity website: www.unitycharlottesville.org. In the event of cancellation, we will send you an email – or you can call the church office at 434-9788-1062 and listen to a recorded message.
Will There be More Outdoor Services at Unity?
During these challenging Covid times, we’re all being called upon to be flexible and adapt quickly to change. Our current plan is to meet outside on Sunday, October 4 and Sunday, October 11, weather permitting. On Sunday, October 18, we will return to an online virtual service ONLY so that we can conduct Unity’s 2020 Annual Meeting immediately after the service. All are welcome to attend.
PLEASE NOTE: TO HONOR AND RESPECT THOSE WHO DO NOT WISH TO ATTEND IN-PERSON SERVICES, WE WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE STREAM ALL SUNDAY SERVICES ON ZOOM, WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/UNITYCHARLOTTESVILLE, AND WWW.UNITYCHARLOTTESVILLE.ORG

We gather each Sunday morning for prayer, meditation and contemplation, inspiring and uplifting music, and spiritual connection. Unity teaches that there are many paths to God or higher consciousness, and we are committed to exploring spiritual ideas in a safe and nurturing environment where everyone is acknowledged for the magnificence of who they are.
